It has been one year since I joined ONC Lawyers, and it is now time to reflect and express my gratitude to people who have supported me via the journey.
I have spent more than 8 years in my previous firm. Leaving the comfort zone is always difficult, but it has turned out to be an excellent opportunity to further practice my social and management skills. With the help of our colleagues, we started the tax practice in ONC Lawyers.

In the past 12 months, we have derived great personal and professional relationship with CPA firms in Hong Kong. I am happy we have exchanged and confirmed business opportunities with over 20 CPA firms in Hong Kong. We always look for reliable audit firms to take care of our clients.
Our scope of services is very broad. Taxation would always be our taxation. We have strong partnership with CPA firms in Hong Kong for assurance and accounting services. Legal colleagues next to me would now offer comprehensive legal services, from Cayman fund and LPF / OFC formation, corporate finance, legal due diligence, etc. (ONC Lawyers is a premium full-services local law firm. We have just extended our tenancy agreement in one of the most premium buildings in Hong Kong, Exchange Square, Central).
Despite the hardship in Hong Kong market, we strive to continue to provide the highest quality services to our clients.

COVID-19 pandemic has been a health and economic crisis which has significantly affected the normal lives of people, as well as the economic circumstances of businesses around the world. At the very beginning of Year 2021, I wish all of you stay safe and healthy.
Year 2020 has been a difficult year for Hong Kong. Meanwhile, last year was a turning point of our Tax Team. Adopting to the changing tax legislation and system, our members have spent significant amount of time in exploring into different areas of taxation services for the purpose of providing a comprehensive range of services to our clients.
Looking ahead, the knowledge and experience that we have at Cheng & Cheng and our Tax Team will allow us to provide better services to our valuable clients.

Henry Kwong
Henry Kwong’s practice focuses on tax advisory and compliance, covering Hong Kong, China and international taxation, as well as transfer pricing to Hong Kong listed entities and multi-national corporations. He was the prize winner in the International Tax and Advanced Taxation Practice of Certified Tax Adviser (CTA) Qualifying Examination.
Henry first started his career in the Hong Kong Corporate Tax Department of a Big 4 CPA firm for a number of years and later became the Tax Partner of sizable CPA firm in Hong Kong. During the period, Henry led a team of around 20 staff members and developed the China Tax and Transfer Pricing Practices for the firm.
Henry’ expertise in China, Hong Kong and international taxation (both corporate and individual income tax) as well as transfer pricing enables him to provide comprehensive tax planning solutions to clients.
Henry has extensive experience in assisting a number of corporations and individuals in handling field audit and tax investigation conducted by Unit 4 of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department as well as the Tax Appeal to Board of Review.
